It’s hard to believe that in just a few more days we will be celebrating the Christmas and New Year period. Well, what a year 2023 has been and perhaps a little harder than what we anticipated. The talent market has been the toughest we have seen in a very long time and many of our industry partners have shared with us the variety of struggles they have faced with the tightening of the talent market.
Our team worked hard to support industry partners, resulting in a record number of jobs registered jobs and a substantial number of job advertisements, generating a high number of applications.
The construction sector, particularly the demand for Site Managers, stood out as a stronghold. In Architecture, while quieter than the previous year, there was still high demand for experienced architects with 4 plus years' experience. The first half of the year saw increased demand for Civil Engineers and Civil Designers with transport or subdivision experience, while services and structural engineering remained steady. Administration consistently sought skills in submissions and project admin.
Beyond business, we take pride in our team's collective effort—ROUSSOS members and clients raised an impressive $68,638 for the Jodi Lee Foundation Annual Trek, a cause deeply valued by Anna and the team.
We were honoured to sponsor events like the 500 Women in Property event—'An Evening with Gemma Munro,' where Anna spoke on a panel about women, leadership, and careers. Additionally, we sponsored an award at the Master Builders Australia Awards Night and the Master Builders HiViz Women Building Lunch. Participation in events such as the Future Directions quiz night, the ACA Practice Managers Lunch, and the Property Council Staff Summit showcased our unwavering commitment to industry engagement.
Looking ahead to 2024, we are so excited about upcoming projects, events, jobs, meetings, and trips. As we reflect on the successes of 2023, we’d like to thank all those that we have partnered with this year.
