Renowned for their innovative and sustainable design solutions, JPE Design Studio has seen ongoing success from their diversity of projects and multi-disciplinary offering including architecture, interiors, landscape architecture and urban design. The collaborative team of 35 is dedicated to excellence and bringing positive change through design and is looking for someone to positively contribute to the success of the studio, its people, and its operations.

The Role
JPE Design Studio are seeking a highly motivated and optimistic professional to join their dynamic team. As the Practice Manager, you will oversee the operations of the studio and business compliance, other administrative staff and contractors. You will manage practice activities in relation to people and recruitment, project systems and quality assurance.  You will contribute to the financial and cultural success of JPE and may shape the role to reflect your professional journey.  As mentioned below, we are looking for someone with potential HR and OH&S experience, project and/or financial background, exposure to budget and payroll management, and a drive to positively contribute to the success of our design studio as a whole. Having a background in the design or architecture industry is desired but not a necessity if you have a passion for managing and enriching a productive work environment.
  
Some of the key responsibilities include:
  • Oversee studio systems and processes, and new innovations
  • Support the Directors and meet regularly with Project Leaders to encourage project success
  • Coordinate practice compliance, risk assessment, regulations, policies, contracts and best practices
  • Manage HR administration, recruitment processes, onboarding, and staff development along with OH&S procedures
  • Budget oversight and management
  • Oversee IT needs, QA system compliance and development
  • Review studio performance and efficiency and help identify areas for improvement

JPE Design Studio have a strong focus on culture, so someone who flourishes off being part of a creative and high performing environment will excel in this role. The successful candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Architecture, Design, Construction, project management and/or contract exposure, or equivalent. Proven experience in a managerial role, preferably within the architecture, design, or construction industry. Excellent organisational and multitasking skills, and strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead with a proactive and flexible attitude, mentor and motivate team leaders. Proficiency in project management software and systems and Microsoft Office Suite, with exceptional communication and negotiation skills for industry regulations and standards.
