Civil Project Engineer

Job description

About the Company

ROUSSOS Recruitment is proudly partnering with a respected Tier 3 civil contractor with a strong footprint across metropolitan Adelaide. Delivering projects between $5M and $15M, their portfolio spans earthworks, stormwater, pavements, structural concrete and broader infrastructure works.

What truly sets this business apart is its leadership structure. With five key leaders actively involved in project delivery and team development, mentorship is embedded into the culture. This is a close knit, stable environment where progression is clearly mapped and performance is recognised.

About the Role

As a Civil Project Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in delivering diverse civil projects, working across both site and office environments. You will partner closely with experienced Project Managers and Supervisors while progressively taking ownership of planning, coordination and commercial responsibilities.
There is a clearly defined pathway from Project Engineer to Project Manager, with structured development and hands on support from the leadership team. You will not be left to navigate progression alone. Instead, you will be guided, challenged and supported as you build capability and confidence.

Key Responsibilities:

- Assist with project planning, scheduling and site coordination
- Manage subcontractors, suppliers and daily site activities
- Support budgets, cost tracking, forecasting and reporting
- Prepare and manage documentation including SWMS, ITPs and quality records
- Monitor safety, environmental and quality compliance
- Collaborate closely with senior leaders to strengthen delivery outcomes

The Ideal Candidate

You are motivated, team focused and ready to build a long term career in civil construction. You will bring:

- A tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering or related discipline
- 2 to 3 years experience delivering civil projects in Adelaide
- Exposure to earthworks, stormwater, concrete, pavements or infrastructure works
- Strong communication and organisational capability
- A genuine desire to progress into a Project Manager role

Most importantly, you value mentorship, accountability and being part of a business where leadership is accessible and invested in your success.

Why This Role

This is an opportunity to join a contractor where development is intentional. With five dedicated leaders guiding the team, a strong pipeline of work and a clearly structured pathway to Project Manager, you will be supported to take the next meaningful step in your career.
