We are seeking a driven and experienced Design Manager with a strong architectural background and real-world construction exposure. You will work closely with delivery teams to ensure design intent is maintained while identifying opportunities for value management and construction efficiencies.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in complex, fast-paced construction environments and understands the critical relationship between design, construction, and client outcomes. You will be embedded within the builder’s team, driving coordination, innovation, and delivery from early concept through to construction completion.

The role
- Lead and manage design development across large-scale tier one projects
- Collaborate closely with construction teams to ensure buildability, sequencing, and efficiency
- Identify and implement value management opportunities to improve outcomes and reduce waste
- Act as the key design interface between the builder and the client, understanding client drivers and ensuring design outcomes are aligned with project goals
- Drive consultant coordination, ensuring timely delivery of documentation to support procurement and delivery
- Proactively resolve design issues, mitigate risk, and support the construction team through all project stages
- Architectural background with exposure to tier one commercial, mixed-use developments, Health and or Education
- Strong understanding of construction methodology and delivery programs
- Proven ability to value manage and work collaboratively with stakeholders
- Experience supporting builders in both pre-construction and delivery phases
- Excellent communication skills and a client-focused mindset
- Ability to lead consultant teams and manage design packages in a live construction environment
