The Role
As Lead Drafter and Compliance Officer, you will manage and oversee the concept, design, and execution of all construction details for existing and new standard designs, in line with customer requests and company standards. You will ensure time management, communication across all applicable parties is adopted, documentation management, quality control and accuracy are implemented and maintained to a high level. This role will enable you to take charge and ensure the efficient operation of your projects.
 
Key responsibilities include:
  • Coordinate all drafting workflow, ensuring compliance with construction standards
  • Interpret local council requirements and developer guidelines for siting and working drawing purposes
  • Conduct quality assurance on work produced by the offshore drafting team
  • Request and cross-check external documentation for accuracy and consistency
  • Develop a library of standard construction details
  • Maintain accurate records in the internal operating system
  • Provide timely and solution-focused service to internal and external stakeholders
  • Provide weekly reports on drafting work and quality assurance
The Like Mind
Along with a Diploma of Building Design or equivalent tertiary education, you will have experience working in a similar role with project homes, custom builds, town houses and master drawing sets. Excellent AutoCAD / ArchiCAD skills are vital, as well as knowledge of ResCode, NCC and the BCA. The ideal candidate will show strong initiative and be able to be independent and creative throughout the process. Above all, you will have a high level of attention to detail under tight deadlines, and the desire to progress your career for the long term!
