Equipment Procurement Manager

The Opportunity

ROUSSOS Recruitment are proud to be partnering with a high‑performing project team delivering one of South Australia's most significant infrastructure programs. This multi‑billion‑dollar precinct redevelopment will shape the state for decades, supported by a growing team of 170+ industry‑leading construction and engineering professionals.

Reporting to the Head of Equipment, you will lead the Equipment Procurement function responsible for the end to end acquisition of specialised production equipment. You will oversee sourcing, negotiation, contract management and supplier performance across local and international markets, ensuring alignment with program objectives, governance requirements and whole of life asset considerations.

Working within a major defence program environment, you will drive strategy across a critical equipment category, balancing commercial outcomes with risk management, compliance and long term operational performance.

Key Responsibilities

You will:
  • Lead the end to end procurement of capital specialised production equipment.
  • Manage market engagement, supplier identification and tender processes.
  • Oversee sourcing, negotiation and contract management activities.
  • Develop whole of life procurement strategies, including maintenance and asset integration considerations.
  • Implement supplier relationship management and quality assurance processes.
  • Manage budgets, financial profiling and reporting across the equipment portfolio.
  • Ensure compliance with procurement frameworks, contractual obligations and legislative requirements.
  • Provide input into program level risk management relating to procurement.
  • Build strong internal and external stakeholder relationships to support successful delivery.
About You

You are a strategic procurement leader with a strong commercial mindset and a proven background delivering complex equipment or capital procurement programs.

To be successful, you will bring:
  • Minimum 10 years experience in procurement and contract management within major projects, defence or large scale equipment programs.
  • Strong knowledge of sourcing strategies, contracting methodologies and supplier negotiation.
  • Proven experience leading or mentoring teams.
  • High level commercial acumen and financial management capability.
  • Confidence navigating compliance frameworks, export controls and international supply chains.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Australian citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain required Defence security clearances.
