Project Manager/Estimator

The Opportunity
We are partnering with a well-established commercial building company in SA that specialises in joinery, maintenance, fit outs, painting and general construction. This offers a huge opportunity for an experienced Estimator/Project manager to supervise their service section. This role is looking for someone who has prior experience in carpentry or building and possess leadership capabilities regarding supervising and managing projects.
 
The Role
This role requires you to overlook multiple aspects of small building jobs on and off site. This role suits someone who demonstrates strong leadership capabilities who can manage a team and has organisational skills to ensure smooth operations throughout jobs. Prior experience in supervising or quoting work, such as small building projects or maintenance in construction is required.

  • On site measurers

  • Quotes of small building works

  • Supervision of staff and sub-contractors

  • On site supervision of small building projects

  • Take offs and ordering of materials

  • Compliance with safety and WHS policies and procedures.

The ideal applicant will need to be driven to achieve outstanding results. Your time management and ability to cope with high-pressure situations will ensure successful delivery of projects on schedule. Great leadership, client relationship skills, judgement and problem-solving ability will be used to assist in solving issues that may arise during projects. A high degree of computer literacy with experience in Microsoft Office is an advantage.
This role requires a great deal of professionalism – you will need to be ethical and act with integrity regarding dealings with clients to complete projects that result in the satisfaction of all customers and project team personnel involved.
 
 The following qualifications are required:

  • White card

  • Police and DCSI Clearance

  • Experience in either shop fitting, building maintenance or commercial fit outs

  • Full driver’s License.

  • Experience with WHS procedures including JSAs and work method statements.

  • Trade qualified in either carpentry, cabinetmaking or shopfitting

  • Supervisor’s licence

This is a full-time position that comes with a company vehicle, phone and uniform.
