ROUSSOS Recruitment is partnering with a leading civil contractor that has firmly established itself as a trusted delivery partner for the Department for Infrastructure and Transport (DIT) and a wide range of civil clients. With an impressive portfolio of projects across roads, bridges, and community infrastructure, this business continues to expand its presence in South Australia and is seeking a Senior Estimator to play a pivotal role in its Adelaide team.

The Role

As Senior Estimator, you will:
  • Prepare detailed estimates, tenders, and cost plans for civil and DIT projects
  • Collaborate with project teams, clients, and subcontractors to deliver competitive and high-quality submissions
  • Be able to work autonomously and produce competitive tenders
  • Provide strategic insights to management on methodologies, project risks, and market competitiveness
  • Liaise directly with clients to track tender progress and incorporate feedback into future submissions
  • Maintain and update the company’s estimating databases, supplier networks, and reference libraries
  • Support business development activities and contribute to Expressions of Interest and capability statements
  • Uphold safety, quality, and environmental compliance across all estimating activities

The Like Mind

The ideal candidate will possess tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or a related discipline, along with a solid background in civil estimating, particularly with experience in Department for Infrastructure and Transport (DIT), or large-scale infrastructure projects. You will have a proven track record of delivering successful tenders, demonstrating a keen eye for detail, and strong commercial acumen. Exceptional project and time management skills are essential, as is the ability to juggle multiple priorities under pressure.

You will also exhibit leadership qualities, with a genuine passion for mentoring, and team development. Proficiency in MS Office and estimating software, especially expert estimation, is highly regarded. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are crucial for building trust, and fostering long-term relationships. Additionally, a current driver’s licence, and general safety induction card are required.
