ROUSSOS Recruitment is pleased to be partnering with Helping Hand to source a Senior Development Manager to lead a range of property development programs. The primary goal is to drive mission and strategy whilst developing new models of housing, care and services for older Australians. Helping Hand is a not-for-profit organisation with a proud history of offering support to more than 7,000 South Australians in Adelaide and regional areas. Having operated for 70 years in their field, Helping Hand is now looking to appoint a driven Development Manager/ Project Manager to reinvigorate their North Adelaide precinct through developing high-end retirement living accommodation, commercial tenancies and a revitalisation of the residential care home.
 
The Role

This newly created senior role is responsible for the successful execution and delivery of multiple diverse building projects across the Helping Hand portfolio. Working in a collaborative and influential position, you will work with a multi-disciplinary team of internal and external stakeholders to develop brown and greenfield sites. With a full-scope level of responsibility for strategic and feasibility analysis, you will also direct contractual negotiations, the management of risk and budget, construction delivery, handover and ongoing asset governance.
 
Key responsibilities include:
  • Overseeing the complete development process from concept design to completion and handover
  • Coordination of multi-functional teams delivering projects on time, to budget and quality standards
  • Overseeing the development of feasibility analysis and investment proposals for Board presentation
  • Negotiation of necessary approvals and permits
  • Management of contractual requirements of each development
  • Ongoing reviews and forecasting of cashflow and funding requirements
 
The Ideal Candidate
 
You will demonstrate the proven ability to deliver complex brown and greenfield housing and community precinct developments in excess of $50M in value. The ability to lead and influence teams on major projects is critical, and you must also have advanced project management expertise. You should be a proven leader with a track record of presenting business cases at Board level, plus strong contract negotiation skills. An understanding of the retirement living sector and working in the for-purpose industry will be highly advantageous, but is not essential.
