The Role
In your role as a Senior Hydraulic & Fire Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in providing hydraulic and wet-fire specific technical input in all facets of engineering projects from the initial client inquiry through to the completion of the project, including co-ordination with other disciplines, liaison with clients, associated consultants, local authorities and other statutory bodies. Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
  • Perform specialized engineering tasks, such as writing specifications and creating designs, while coordinating with other disciplines, under minimal supervision.
  • Collaborate with the Discipline Leader - Building Services to identify, develop, and implement standards, systems, tools, and processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness within the organization.
  • Participate in design reviews, risk assessments, bid evaluations, construction support activities including RFI’s, submittal reviews, site visits and design revisions/change
  • Handle fire protection design and Occupational Health & Safety program for various building projects, including generating reports, conducting studies, performing design calculations, creating drawings and specifying requirements.
  • Mentor junior colleagues offering guidance and education to enhance their ability.
  • Collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders at all levels to ensure project success. 
The ideal candidate
This role would suit a seasoned engineer with 7+ years of experience in Hydraulic & Fire Engineering (Design experience) with a Bachelor degree of Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline. Have proficient understanding of and ability to apply sustainable and cost-effective design principles to discipline engineering solutions. You will be self-sufficient and proactive and will need excellent communication and interpersonal skills to contribute to a team environment. Working knowledge of relevant software is necessary to be considered.
