Senior Urban Planner

Job description

Due to ongoing growth and recently secured projects, this business is looking for a Senior Urban Planner to join their interdisciplinary team. Designing unique spaces, this business delivers complex projects across various industries such as sports, wellbeing, residential, civic, community and infrastructure sectors. They foster collaborative design outcomes and have a strong foundation for flexibility with an understanding of the importance of work/life balance. This role is a unique opportunity to work closely with the director in building strengths in development assessment, urban design, and strategic planning across their Adelaide and Melbourne studios in supporting the day-to-day operations of our planning stream.  
 
The Role
The Urban Planner position is a fundamental part of our structure that will enable the success of our projects from inception through to delivery and will build upon our holistic offering – one that will be integral to providing early guidance to our designers and carrying this through to real projects. Your role will involve collaborating with a multidisciplinary team of planners, architects, and landscape architects to create urban design solutions that promote liveability, sustainability, and inclusivity.  
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Undertake due diligence investigations on prospective developments
  • Writing of comprehensive planning statements on development proposals
  • Prepare reports on site opportunities and constraints
  • Meeting with clients to further potential business prospects, with a client-first approach
About You
You’ll enjoy working within a dynamic and collaborative planning and design environment, in addition to:
  • 3-5 years’ practical planning experience with a bachelor’s degree in urban planning or equivalent
  • Project management and client management skills
  • Strategic thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Willingness to further advance within client management and project management
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
