Job description
About the Company
ROUSSOS Recruitment is partnering with an Adelaide based civil construction contractor with head office located in the north-west. This business has built a reputation locally through consistent delivery, repeat clients and a genuine focus on its people.
With a clear appetite for growth, the company is expanding its delivery team and investing in engineers who want to progress into Project Engineer and Project Management roles. Culture is a priority here. This is an organisation where you work closely with leadership, have regular access to decision makers, and develop through real responsibility rather than hierarchy.
Projects are delivered across metropolitan Adelaide and include earthworks, stormwater, pavements, structural concrete, civil infrastructure and SA Water related works, typically valued between $5M and $15M.
About the Role
This opportunity suits a Site Engineer who is already taking on elements of a Project Engineer role, or who is ready to make that step.
You will work closely with Project Managers and Site Supervisors, supporting delivery across site and office functions while progressively increasing your ownership across planning, coordination and reporting.
Key Responsibilities
• Supporting day to day site engineering and coordination activities
• Assisting with project planning, scheduling and progress tracking
• Coordinating subcontractors, suppliers and site operations
• Preparing and managing documentation including ITPs, SWMS, RFIs and QA records
• Supporting cost tracking, variations and reporting
• Monitoring safety, quality and environmental compliance
• Working closely with leadership to resolve site issues and improve delivery outcomes
The Ideal Candidate
This role is intended for someone already working in Adelaide’s civil construction industry and familiar with local site conditions.
To be considered, you will bring:
• A degree qualification in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
• A minimum of 2 years experience as a Site Engineer on civil projects based in Adelaide
• Exposure to Project Engineer level responsibilities or readiness to step into that space
• Local experience across earthworks, stormwater, pavements, concrete or infrastructure works
• Familiarity with SA subcontractor environments and site compliance requirements
• A desire to progress into a full Project Engineer role and beyond
Why This Role
This is a long term opportunity with a contractor that promotes from within and values continuity. You will gain direct access to leadership, hands on development through active project involvement, and the opportunity to grow alongside a business that is expanding its footprint across South Australia.
