Be the Voice of Safety on Projects That Matter
  • Join a builder known for safety, quality, and people-first values.
  • Learn directly from experienced HSE leaders in a supportive environment.
  • Long-term project pipeline offers real career growth and stability.
The Opportunity

ROUSSOS Recruitment is proud to be partnering with a long-standing and highly respected construction company known for delivering quality commercial, hospitality, and education projects across South Australia. With a strong and secure pipeline of projects ranging up to $15M, this is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate and driven Site Safety Officer to join a collaborative team committed to excellence in safety and delivery.

This role is best suited to someone with around 1–2 years of experience in a WHS position. However, if you’ve recently completed your Certificate IV in Work Health & Safety and are eager to step into your first safety-focused role, we welcome your application too. You’ll gain real site experience, mentorship from experienced professionals, and opportunities to grow your WHS career.

The Role

As a Site Safety Officer, you will play a key part in supporting safety performance across fitout and new build projects throughout South Australia. Working closely with site teams and reporting to the HSE Manager, your role will help ensure that safety is embedded into the daily culture of site operations.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Promoting a proactive safety culture through strong site presence and team engagement
  • Conducting site inductions, toolbox talks, and verifying required permits and competencies
  • Performing regular site inspections, risk assessments, and audits to support compliance
  • Maintaining accurate records of safety performance and reporting
  • Supporting incident response, investigations, and corrective actions when needed
This is a hands-on, site-based role where you will work alongside project teams to ensure best safety practices are upheld from day one.

The Like Mind

We are looking for someone who is genuinely committed to safety, has great communication skills, and thrives in a dynamic construction environment.
To succeed in this role, you will ideally have:
  • 1–2 years’ experience in a WHS role (construction or similar environment preferred)
  • A Certificate IV in Work Health & Safety (essential)
  • A current First Aid certificate
  • Working knowledge of WHS legislation and risk management principles
  • The confidence to speak up and engage with trades and site teams
  • A proactive attitude and the ability to work independently
