60 SECOND PORTFOLIO REVIEW

As we head into 2026, your portfolio could be the key to landing your next Architecture or Design opportunity. You don’t need a full overhaul to get noticed – here’s a 60-second review checklist to quickly spot small tweaks that make a big impact in interviews:

1. Show your thinking, not just the final images

Studios want to see how you got there.

Add one process page: sketches, iterations, early concept boards.

2. Lead with your strongest project (not the most recent)

The first 10 seconds decide whether someone keeps looking.

Put the project that defines you right at the front.

3. Add context in one sentence

What was the brief?

What was your role?

Who did you collaborate with?

4. Cut anything you wouldn’t be excited to talk about in an interview

If you dread being asked about it, it doesn’t belong in your portfolio.

5. Reduce text by 30%

Designers read visually. Let images, diagrams and layout communicate.

6. Add your personality

A line about your design philosophy or what drives you is often the most memorable part.
